Sijstermans will be one of the featured artists for the 02022020 project, celebrating the once-in-a-lifetime palindrome date of the 2nd of February 2020. Alle performances in this project can be viewed over the stream on this website.
Sijstermans is one of the artists to participate in the project 'River Without Banks' by Leo Svirsky. In this special commission by the Rewire festival, taking place in The Hague, the Russian-American composer unpacks the vision behind his acclaimed Unseen Worlds debut, ‘River Without Banks’. It immerses the listener in never ending reverberation, unbinding place and time and blurring the perception of past and present.
A new work by Sijstermans will be performed in the Solastalgia concert. This concert presents new commissions as well as older works fromsocially and environmentally engaged composers to challenge and exposelisteners to new understandings of our relationship with the environment- one that is not extractive or destructive.
The programme will be performed by Michiko Ogawa (clarinet), Lucy Railton (cello), Rishin Singh (trombone) and Eric Wong (guitar).
